The Association of Music Therapists of Serbia (AMTS) as a member of the European Music Therapy Confederation (EMTC) has become involved in the European movement for recognizing music therapy as an independent profession.
The Association of Music Therapists of Serbia (AMTS) is training the staff of music therapists and conducting a unique four-year program of education in music therapy in the countries of the region.
Music therapists who have completed education in our Association are entered into the registry of music therapists of the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia and are recognized by the European Music Therapy Confederation.
The goal of this project is to inform the professional public and wider public on the necessity, particularity, significance and achievements of music therapy as profession and to regulate legally the status of music therapists in our country.
The contents of the project includes:
- Granting scholarships to interested individuals who meet the requirements of enrollment to AMTS and who wish to enter four-year education in music therapy according to the Rule book on Education in Music Therapy of the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia
- Organizing lectures, seminars, congresses and professional conferences in the field of music therapy
- Publishing activity – publishing magazines and professional publications
- Marketing activity and media promotion
- Legal counseling and support, planning and continuous lobbying in the competent Ministries and other authorities aimed at regulating the legal status of the profession
- Continuous contacts and activities of the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia in the activities of the European Music Therapy Confederation (EMTC) and the World Music Therapy Confederation through their own representatives
- Costs of current lease of premises, bills, communication and transport of AMTS and employing one administrative officer
- Finding a permanent seat for the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia which is now functioning as a „subtenant“
