Use of Music Therapy in Psycho oncology and Palliative Care

Music therapy is a method of choice for children and adults suffering from malignant diseases. They are applied in all stages of illness, from diagnosis, during the process of therapy, in the stages of remission, in palliative care, but also with the survivors.
They can be used in hospital and out-of-hospital conditions, individually or in a group.
- The use of music therapy techniques leads to improved life quality of children and adults admitted temporarily or permanently in these kinds of institutions, and they also serve for the prevention of burn-out syndrome with the personnel working with the aforementioned population of clients.
- The goal of the project is to establish music therapy departments in institutions dealing with the treatment of malignant diseases and institutions for palliative care.
Contents of the project:
- Furnishing music therapy departments in the institutions dealing with the treatment of malignant diseases and institutions for palliative care
- Continuous use of music therapy techniques with children suffering from malignant diseases by educated music therapists in hospital and out-of-hospital conditions
- Continuous use of music therapy techniques for parents or families whose members are suffering from or have died of a malignant disease
- Educational music therapy workshops for parents or families whose members are suffering from or have died of a malignant disease
- Educational workshops for personnel employed in institutions treating patients suffering from malignant disease or employed in palliative care
- Evaluation and prospective monitoring of the results of application
- Presentation of results on professional conferences
- Marketing and media promotion of the project
