The basic level of workshops enables differentiation between the normal and pathological forms of mourning, as well as particularities of manifestations of mourning in certain age or cultural groups. At the same time, it enables the participants to observe their own significant losses and the process of mourning for such losses, through personal experience.
This kind of education reduces the burn-out syndrome of the personnel employed in this type of institutions, it is effective in the prevention and detection of complicated mourning reactions bearing the risk of psychotic or psychosomatic illness, family and social dysfunctions.
